The project: A Food Policy for Rome

Davide Marino

Davide Marino is a professor of Agricultural Economics and the coordinator of a civic society committee behind the proposal of a Food Policy for Rome.

The project has gradually brought together over 150 people and 50 organizations involved in undertaking comprehensive scientific research and drafting concrete solutions. Their proposal of a resolution with the Food Policy for Rome is now discussed in the Environment Commission.

According to prof. Marino, the topic of food can be easily linked to no less than 14 out of 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations’ Agenda 2030. Indeed, his initiative is an excellent example of action in line with Goal 17, which is to “strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development” or shortly “Partnerships for the Goals”.
