The project: Fondazione Claudio Ciai

Francesco Ciai

Francesco Ciai, President of the Claudio Ciai Foundation, works full-time to promote support for disabled people and victims of car accidents.

He set up the Foundation in 2014, following the premature death of his father in a car accident. On 15 September 2010, while driving his company car, his father Claudio was involved in a serious car accident. As a result, he suffered serious brain injuries that prevented him from communicating, moving and eating. Six months in Austria to have access to a medical treatment that was not yet authorised in Italy; the salary cut from his place of work; clashes with the condominium to remove architectural barriers and a fraud on the part of the lawyer they were being followed by are just some of the obstacles the family had to face.

From this experience, as terrible as it was fortifying, the Fondation Claudio Ciai ONLUS was born. Its objective is to strengthen the local community with development projects that promote the overcoming of cultural barriers; promote social integration; and denounce injustices and inequalities.

A defender of human rights and diversity, Francesco is totally opposed to discrimination of any kind. On a daily basis, he is involved in developing the creation and dissemination of campaigns and events for the Claudio Ciai Foundation, helping both users and organisations to define their goals and solutions.
